Disk storage fundamentals

  • Comes in SSDs or HDDs, varying performance

Blob storage fundamentals

  • Unstructured
  • Everything is blobs, don’t have to worry about type

Files fundamentals

  • Mounted
  • Store files or config, able to access from multiple VMs
  • Can use SAS URI to access via web

Understand Blob access tiers

  • Hot
  • Cool (> 30 days)
  • Archive (> 180 days)

Only the hot and cool access tiers can be set at the account level. The archive access tier isn’t available at the account level. Hot, cool, and archive tiers can be set at the blob level, during upload or after upload.
